After a week as grisbonders we chose to continue our journey north.
As we already mentioned in previous posts said, we traveled on to Pukenui, celebrated Christmas days and stayed for two nights. Hande nothing spectacularexcept that we experienced the effect of tides. We decided to hike to a beautifulbeach away from the hostel where we stayed. The road was mostly at the beach andat some places we had to go through the water which worked well because it was low tide. We asked for things incitement litter at nice girl if it was possible to wade acrossa little later as the difference between high and low water is quite large has. Shereplied that there were no problems as long as we were not afraid to get wet. Sure, we said, and continued our walk! When we few hours later (after a springtur and a swim on a deserted beach) we came back to the place where we said happilywandered over earlier. It has previously been a bit back was now turned into a great river! Without losing their temper, we chose to follow the river down, there must beeasier to get over someone else to stay, we thought, and the road team spirit in that direction. Where we learned Nasta laxa in our journey, never leave it are markedwalkway. After struggling through the branches, tall grass (also Patrick) we came towhat looked like swamp we chose to turn back. Back at the river where the water hadrisen further in the same moment that we were losing our hope, however, German Walter up (have to win universal has more Germans than New Zealand) on his canoe.Wonderful Walter had much Christmas spirit in the body and chose to carry us over to the other side of his canoe.
Sakra hemma pa terassen, visst ser vi glada ut!
Safe home on the terrace, oh how glad!!!
Then we continued our trip up to Cape Riegna found at the top most point of NZ. We'll let the fotes do the talking...super sweet and powerfull!
